Hey Monica April 3rd is on a Saturday. Is there another date in April you were thinking of?
yesterday
I would find out if there are any Thursday's that are not available, how far ahead we need to give them our reservation, how many we need for the discount (does that include parents and kids and are the parents the same price at the kiddos).
yesterday
Oh, almost forgot... Jae, I think this is a continuous thing, but I'll call them and check before things get any more definite. Also, I think I'll need to ask them how many are needed for the educational groups, etc.... (other random questions that…

Ok, so it seems like a Thursday in April would work well for everyone. Tonya, may ask for your schedule for that Month? I'd love for everyone to be included in this - just to get our kids out on the water and doing something we normally don't do. :)…

I, myself would love to go, however due to circumstancces beyond my control (my printer AND WASHING MACHINE have both died) I will not be able to make it if you plan one for this month, however, do whatever works for the masses. If you do decide on…

Jae's Space

This week we had a St. Patrick's day party and made leprechaun houses. The kids had so much fun. Watch out for the leprechauns! The kids (and moms) are really enjoying meeting with each other every week. Some great friendships are forming! March 12th is ice skating in Decatur - March 19th Bowling in the Shoals. The Easter Egg Hunt will be the Friday before Easter. Please check the "Events" area at the top for additional details. We have several other ideas in the works but we need your ideas! We want to offer our kids a variety of opportunities. Please give feedback with any suggestions. Thanks.
We are having a blast with this crazy "Fun Friday" idea. We are determined to do something fun every Friday this year. Perhaps you are not up for "every" week but when you see something you think your kiddos would like - jump in.
Come and join us - the more the merrier.
Jae

Are any of y'all interested in taking a river boat cruise on a Thursday morning?

My mom has been wanting to take the kids on a river boat cruise for a while so she had me google it today. The Pickwick Belle in Florence offers educational cruises narrated by someone from TVA on Thursday mornings from 9 until 10. They are only $7 a person. If you take any of the other cruises, the prices jump exponentially. Anyway, the educational cruises are reserved for educational groups, not just one cheap family *lol*, so I thought I'd ask if you all were interested in getting a group tog… Continue

St. Patrick's Day Party

Hey moms and more! Don't forget our Shoals area St Patty party tomorrow. Wear green, bring snacks, have fun. Also, please remember to bring a box of some type for your kiddos. We will turn them into homes, traps, etc. for the leprechauns. Feel free to bring any crafty or green things you have that might help with the traps. I have a few things to bring. This was an easy and fun project when we did it last year (though it was only 1 kid). I hope it plays out well with a bunch. See you guys tomorr… Continue

Anyone interested in guitar lessons?

I found a guitar teacher for my son, and he's wonderful. We've had a few, so we know how hard it is to find a good one. His prices are also very reasonable. He works near Madison Square Mall and lives in south Huntsville by the river, and travels to Cotaco frequently, so he can probably work out something convenient for you.

He's giving my nephews group lessons. If anyone is interested in lessons, I'll be glad to give you his e-mail address. If there is a lot of interest, perhaps someon… Continue

March of Dimes Walkathon

On April 24th at University of North Alabama, the March of Dimes will be sponsoring a walkathon. I will be getting a walking team together in the honor of my preemie grandson "Jayden". He is doing well but only weighed 2lb. 11oz. at birth. He spent the first 43 days in Hospital NICU. He is progressing normally but still small. This would be one way I could give back for the wonderful treatment he was given to save his life. If you are interested, please let me know so that I can get a team signe… Continue

February is almost over and I'm still not through my "Winter-TO DO" list! Somehow all those long, cozy winter nights I always think of during the first brisk days of fall just never seem to come around.

I'm working on a plan for our wild yard; think: edible landscaping. I'm putting in plants to feed us and our wildlife. Our family plan is to have our yard certified as a Wildlife Habitat this year by the National Wildlife Organization (www.nfw.org). Check it out; the NWF has made the process more simple than it was several years ago and it's a wonderful project to do as a family. And, more simple than you might think. If you have a bird feeder up now, you've got a head start.

The Project WILD workshop on Feb. 12 was fantastic! Shirley West did a wonderful job, we learned a lot, had fun together, and came home with a lot of resources.

I've been in touch with the folks in charge of the annual "Seige at Bridgeport" and will be posting a field trip to the Everest Academy families soon. Save the last weekend of March for this great Civil War re-enactment (the field trip will likely be that Thursday, Mar. 25).

Enjoy the end of winter/coming of spring!

Kristen
